Dr Sam Hwang is a highly qualified Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT) surgeon with expertise in both paediatric and adult ENT care, offering advanced management of complex head and neck conditions. He has a subspecialty focus in thyroid, parathyroid, and salivary gland surgery, as well as head and neck oncology, robotic surgery, and reconstructive surgical techniques. Dr Hwang grew up in Sydney and completed his medical degree at the University of New South Wales (UNSW). He went on to undertake specialist training in Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery, gaining broad experience across leading Sydney hospitals. His training included paediatric ENT rotations at Sydney Children’s Hospital and Westmead Children’s Hospital, as well as advanced sinus surgery training at Concord Hospital. He became a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS) in 2022. Following his specialist qualification, Dr Hwang completed a prestigious international fellowship in Advanced Head and Neck Oncology and Microvascular Reconstruction at the University of Alberta, Canada, where he trained under internationally recognised leaders in head and neck surgery. In addition to his clinical practice, Dr Hwang is actively involved in teaching and academic research and holds a position as a Conjoint Lecturer at UNSW. He has published widely in peer-reviewed journals and presented at national and international conferences, contributing to advancements in modern ENT and head and neck surgery. Dr Hwang is a member of leading professional organisations, including the Australian Society of Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery (ASOHNS), the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (RACS), and the American Head and Neck Society (AHNS). He is committed to delivering evidence-based, patient-focused ENT care, using the latest surgical techniques to achieve optimal outcomes for his patients.
